Abstract

Quaestio: „Quid significat kebod Jahveh?” multorum commovet animos exegetarum, qui diversas et non raro contrarias eius solutiones proponunt. A. von Gall etenim existimat in libris Veteris Testamenti kebod Jahveh significare aliquid visibile (tempestatem , figuram luminosam Dei apparentis), dum J. Abrahams vocabulum istud nomen abstractum dicit (potentia Dei), B. Stein vero ascribit ei significationem Dei invisibilis Eiusque qualitatum . Multi opinantur, quod kebod Jahveh simul concreta (tempestas, luminosa Dei apparentis figura, species ignis in nube inter theophaniam visibilis) et abstracta (potentia Dei) gaudeat significatione (W. Caspari, J. Morgenstern, H. Kittel, G. von Rad, K. Neuhaus et St. Łach). Diversimode vocabulum nostrum in scriptis ante et post Exilium compositis explicatur. Alteri enim duce A . von Gall tenent ante Exilium kebod Jahveh tem pestatem significasse (W. Caspari, G. von Rad, E. Dąbrowski), alteri autem putant realitatem , quae ante templi Salomonis ruinam et post eius reaedificationem usque ad annum 485 hoc vocabulo designabatur, nihil aliud fuisse nisi radios solis orientis, qui — ut aiunt — inter solemnem ritum Novi Anni in sanctuarium Hierosolymitanum immittebantur (C. V. L. Charlier, K. Vollers, H. G. May, H. Riesenfeld et praesertim J. Morgenstern). Secundum quosdam (A. von Gall, W. Caspari, J. Morgenstern, H. Kittel, G. von Rad, K. Neuhaus) Ezechiel vocabulo kebod Jahveh designavit luminosam figuram Dei, quam in suis visionibus contemplabatur, secundum alios non solum figuram Dei, sed etiam tem pestatem eius apparitioni concomitantem et cherubim solium Jahveh portantes (J. Knabenbauer, J. Herrmann, E. Dąbrowski). Sunt quoque qui censeant, quod Ezechiel lectores suos expresse certiores faciat figuram a se contemplatam non fuisse kebod Jahveh (= Jahveh) sed im aginem Dei invisibilis (B. Stein). In scriptis sacerdotalibus Pentateuchi (P) alii vocant kebod Jahveh figuram luminosam Dei apparentis (A. von Gall), alii quandam speciem lucis forma carentem (H. K ittel, G. von Rad, J. Morgenstern), alii denique ipsum Jahveh, cuius praesentia inter theophanias specie lucis indicaretur (B. Stein). Cum autem differentes istae opiniones a contem poraneis scientificis suadeantur, definitiva solutio quaestionis kebod Jahveh nondum exsistere videtur.
