Abstract
Since both ancient versions and modern translations give different versions of the name of the author of the Book of Obadiah, this article aims to determine the most likely name of the author of the shortest book of the Old Testament. The first part presents the status textus, starting with the Hebrew texts, followed by the Greek and Latin versions. In addition, we examine how the name of this prophet was recorded in Church documents. The second part presents efforts to understand the origins and essence of textual differences. The final section contains perspectives and suggestions regarding the use of the name of the author of the Book of Obadiah.
