The Case of Chile https://czasopisma.kul.pl/index.php/sanp/article/view/17877
Given the arrival of migrants through unauthorized crossings in northern Chile since 2019, both government and international organizations have only responded via emergency criteria, therefore causing strong reactions by media and academia, mainly from social sciences. This text aims to combine analytical perspectives towards the understanding of a complex situation, such as migration. We have articulated an architectural point of view with an anthropological approach to examine the temporary camps installed on the northern Chilean border, particularly in Colchane and Lobitos. Starting from a contextualization of the situation in the Latin American region, the article gives way to the Chilean case and its government’s actions in response to the increase of migrant entries through the northern border. This allows us to assess the set-up infrastructure in terms of habitability, permanence, and social inclusion.
Cristina Gómez Johnson Ludmilla Santos de Aquino Copyright (c) 2024 Cristina Gómez Johnson , Ludmilla Santos de Aquino http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-19 2024-12-19 2 13 36 10.31743/sanp.17877 Strategy of the President of Lithuania Towards Ukraine 2022–2024 https://czasopisma.kul.pl/index.php/sanp/article/view/17211
The article analyzes the policy of the President of Lithuania towards Ukraine during the Russian invasion. The purpose of the paper is to analyze and evaluate the rhetoric and strategy undertaken by the Lithuanian president towards Ukraine in 2022–2024. The hypotheses suggest that the Russian threat leads to an intensification of Lithuania’s cooperation in the international arena and a change in strategic priorities, especially in the context of Ukraine. The methodology is based on a case study and adaptive theory, allowing us to look at a detailed analysis of the Lithuanian state’s foreign policy. The conclusions confirm that the President’s active policy toward Ukraine is seen as part of increasing Lithuanian security and strengthening Lithuania’s international role.
Martinas Malużinas Copyright (c) 2024 Martinas Malužinas http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-19 2024-12-19 2 37 50 10.31743/sanp.17211 Security Issues in the Electoral Program of Electoral Committee of Silesian Local Government Officials in the 2024 Local Elections https://czasopisma.kul.pl/index.php/sanp/article/view/17893
The primary aim of this article was to attempt to present the programme assumptions of the Electoral Committee of Silesian Local Government Officials in the 2024 local elections, with a focus on security-related issues. For the leadership of the “workers’ party”, this was a difficult task, since a significant percentage of the society was against their rule, the ranks of the organisation rarely included people worthy of the title of communist, and the field structures were formed in the conditions of the struggle against the Polish independence underground. The article attempts to show the process of building district party organs of power in the Lublin area – an important area with revolutionary and communist traditions dating back to the 19th century for the executors of Joseph Stalin’s will. The source for consideration are archival materials of the PPR Voivodeship Party Control Commission in Lublin.
Michał Bednarczyk Copyright (c) 2024 Michał Bednarczyk http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-19 2024-12-19 2 87 104; 105-124 10.31743/sanp.17888 Introduction https://czasopisma.kul.pl/index.php/sanp/article/view/17935 Aneta Bąk-Pitucha Anna Szachoń-Pszenny Agnieszka Zaręba Copyright (c) 2024 Aneta Bąk-Pitucha, Anna Szachoń-Pszenny, Agnieszka Zaręba http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-12-19 2024-12-19 2 5 7; 9-11 10.31743/sanp.17935
