The Sibylline instructs on morality by the use of illustrations. The eschatological elements in the text are used as tools, providing means to an end. The image of punishment is meant to encourage abandoning the life of sin. We may notice a stageability of sorts in the concept of punishment portrayed by the author of the book: from a punishment as a pedagogical measure, to punishment that is eternal and irreversible.</p>}, journal={Verbum Vitae}, author={Miduch, Maria Elżbieta}, year={2019}, month={Dec.}, pages={67–80} }
