Dans l’antiquite l’Eglise etait aussi engagee dans l’activite pastorale parmi les prisonniers. Beaucoup de chretiens ont ete mis en prison a cause de leur foi. Ceux qui etaient en liberte les aidaient materiellement et les soutenaient spirituellement.
