Pozaliturgiczna aktywność świeckich chrześcijan w Egipcie podczas eucharystii między IV a XV w. n.e.

Abstrakt
Artykuł rejestruje nieliturgiczne formy aktywność świeckich chrześcijan podczas eucharystii w Egipcie między IV a XV w. oraz nadaje im kontekst. Jest to pierwsza tego typu całościowa próba w badaniach nad chrześcijaństwem egipskim. Pod uwagę wzięto uwarunkowania liturgiczne, językowe i przestrzenne egipskiej mszy. Oparto się na rozproszonych wzmiankach w różnorodnych źródłach w języku greckim, koptyjskim i arabskim (uwzględniono też pojedyncze źródła etiopskie i syriackie). Źródła te mają charakter prawno-kanoniczny, homiletyczny, hagiograficzny oraz encyklopedyczny. Integralną część artykułu stanowi wybór źródeł w przekładzie na język polski. W świetle przeprowadzonych analiz liturgia eucharystyczna stanowiła nie tylko wydarzenie religijne, ale także ważne wydarzenie towarzyskie. Poza oficjalną celebracją kościół był również miejscem równoległej prywatnej dewocji. Wielu wiernych było wykluczonych z pełnego uczestnictwa w liturgii poprzez organizację przestrzeni kościoła oraz niezrozumiały język.
