Abstract
Die Ehrerbietung, die der Dekalog (Ex. 20,12; Dt. 5,16) für die Eltern fordert, bedeutet keine theoretisch verstandene Achtung, sondern die wirkliche Sorge für sie, besonders im Alter. Es geht um eine Ehrerbietung im materiellen, dynamischen Sinne, um all das, worin die Achtung zum Ausdruck kommt. Das Gebot enthält keine Motivation, sondern die Verheissung eines langen und glücklichen Lebens. Das dekalogische Gebot der Ehrerbietung gegenüber den Eltern hatte nicht das Ziel, die patriarchalische Struktur der Familie zu verewigen, sondern- da es ja auch die Mutter zu ehren verlangte – die Gemeinschaft und Harmonie im Schoss der einzelnen Generationen Israels zu gewähr leisten.Keywords:
