Drawing on archival materials and selected publications, the author presents a profile of Fr. Stanisław Nagy and reports little known facts related to his academic and pastoral activities. In particular, the author describes Cardinal Nagy’s commitment to the Catholic Church, to promoting the teachings of John Paul II, and to the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. The article focuses on the last stage of Stanisław Nagy’s life, i.e., the years after he was created cardinal.
The article has been published to commemorate the centenary of birth of Cardinal Stanisław Nagy, SCI, a long-standing President of the Scholarly Board of the John Paul II Institute at the Catholic University of Lublin (until 2007) and a friend of Ethos.
