Abstract

In the article, the author provides an analytical and interpretative review of three hitherto unknown juvenile poems by Czesław Miłosz: Rachunek znowu [Account again], Z dołu [From the Bottom], Z pełną świadomością [“With Full Consciousness”, comparing them to other works from that period included in Miłoszʼs debut volume Poemat o czasie zastygłym [A Poem on Frozen Time] (1933). The works in question were written in the years 1930-1931, deposited by the poet in the private archive of his friend Teodor Bujnicki, and discovered and made public by Teodor’s son, Tadeusz Bujnicki, only in 2021. The discussed poems were first published (as photocopies of the manuscripts) in the quarterly Kroniki edited by Zbigniew Fałtynowicz.
