Established in 2004, the scientific journal TEKA of the Commission of Polish–Ukrainian Cultural Associations is a peer-reviewed academic periodical and the only journal of its kind in Europe. Its primary aim is to provide a platform for scholarly discourse on the interaction between the neighboring Polish and Ukrainian cultures in the fields of language, literature, history, and broadly understood culture.
The journal is multidisciplinary in scope, and its contributors include specialists in linguistics, literary studies, glottodidactics, art history, folklore studies, ethnography, ethnology, anthropology, and religious studies. Since its inception, the journal has played an important role in fostering a constructive and cooperative atmosphere between the two neighboring countries at the level of academic and cultural exchange. This function is of particular significance for both nations, as the development of positive relations through TEKA remains independent of current trends and political tensions.
Articles are published primarily in Polish and Ukrainian, reflecting the journal’s profile and target readership; however, submissions in English are also welcomed, and publication in Russian is possible. Each manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process conducted by two independent specialists. The editorial board also provides for the publication of special issues at intervals of two to three years.
