About the Journal

Established in 2004, TEKA of the Commission of Polish–Ukrainian Cultural Ties is the only academic periodical of its kind in Europe. Its primary objective is to provide a platform for scholarly discourse on the interaction and mutual influence of the neighboring Polish and Ukrainian cultures in the fields of literature, language, history, and broadly understood culture.

Since its inception, the journal has played a significant role in fostering a constructive and cooperative atmosphere between the two countries at the levels of academic and cultural exchange. This role is of particular importance to both nations, as the development of positive relations through TEKA remains independent of current trends and political tensions.

Purpose and Thematic Scope

The journal aims to disseminate the results of current research within the humanities, focusing on the Polish–Ukrainian cultural borderland in the areas of literary studies, linguistics (including glottodidactics), history, and art history. It provides scholars working in this field with an opportunity to publish the findings of their ongoing research.

The editorial board of TEKA fosters an environment conducive to the exchange of ideas not only between researchers from Poland and Ukraine, but also among all scholars and readers engaged in the study of the Polish–Ukrainian cultural borderland. In this way, the journal contributes to the internationalisation of the humanities within this specific domain, which is particularly significant given the transgression of state, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic boundaries, as well as the search for shared axiological foundations in geographically proximate yet culturally distinct societies.
