Living by Philosophy at the Catholic University of Lublin: A Laudatory Speech for the Ceremony of the Renewal of Stanisław Majdański’s Doctorate

The author of the speech, after sharing personal memories of his collaboration with Stanisław Majdański, describes the latter’s work at the Catholic University of Lublin, his publications, and didactic and organizational activities, to proceed to a discussion of his main philosophical interests and ideas, the philosophical tradition he came from and drew upon, his concept of philosophy, and his contribution to the Lublin school of classical philosophy. The author emphasizes Majdański’s creative personality, his original style of thinking and nonconventional teaching and writing methods.
The laudatory speech was prepared in 2020 to be held during the ceremony of the renewal of Stanisław Majański’s doctorate; the ceremony did not take place due to the illness and demise of Doctor Majdański.
