A Historian Is Like a Bee...
Abstract
A historian and a bee should share diligence, the ability to work for a common goal, and perseverance. However, there is no miraculous method that ensures reliability, completeness, and truthfulness in historians’ work. Historians can make mistakes; this is inevitable. The point is to be aware of this and to strive for the improvement of one’s skills with the same persistence as bees show when collecting pollen, building the hive, and producing honey. Historians should be aware of the social and political significance of their activity.
