Some Remarks on Attentiveness

Abstract
The essay discusses connections between contemporary research into the psychology of mindfulness, Simone Weil’s intuitions concerning the ability to concentrate present in her educational and ascetic reflection, and John F. Crosby’s findings in the philosophy of the person and related to such aspect of the person’s subjectivity as self-presence and „collectedness.” The author considers also philosophical ideas of Max Scheler and Karol Wojtyła which may be regarded as pertinent to the category of mindfulness.
