Abstract

The sketch shows the influence of the mystical system of Oskar Miłosz, a distant relative of Czesław Miłosz, on religious works of the latter. In the 1930’s, the two poets met in Paris. In the course of his life, Czesław Miłosz translated poetry and metaphysical prose poems by Oskar Miłosz. Czesław Miłosz also wrote articles on the life and poetry of his relative and regarded this literary work as a secret mission to fulfill in his life. The author of the present sketch shows how the mystical conceptions with which Czesław Miłosz became familiar while working on texts by Oskar Miłosz surfaced—in metaphors, symbols and apocatastatic visions—in his own works.
