Abstract
The diversity of actors appearing in civil cases raises the problem of their proper designation; hence, the classification of these actors and a systematic presentation of this issue is not an easy task. This paper provides an assessment of a monograph written by Marcin Dziurda, Associate Professor at Warsaw University, in which he presents methods of designating the parties in a civil case. In addition to evaluating the structure and content of the monograph, the present article raises additional questions, such as the problem of representing, in land and mortgage register proceedings, an entrepreneur who is being transformed pursuant to Article 584¹ of the Polish Commercial Companies Code. The present author also indicates those aspects of the monograph that should be subjected to a more thorough and extensive analysis and highlights the merits of this scientific work. Some issues described by Professor Dziurda, due to their specific characteristics, may excite controversy and be contentious in science, but his analysis focuses primarily on matters that are important from the point of view of court practice. As a result, the monograph provides valuable insights that can facilitate the conduct of court proceedings and contribute to a better understanding of the proper representation of actors in civil cases. Finally, the present author concludes by summarising and evaluating the monograph in terms of its content value and practical application, pointing out that it is a solid tool for both practitioners and researchers interested in the issue of actors in civil proceedings.
