Abstract
The issue of information and ensuring its legal security, in particular to its processing in IT systems, becomes an important issue not only for the national legislator. Taking into consideration the existence of cross-border information flow - which is necessary for the creation of a common market - there are new threats, such as the need to ensure the protection of individuals' privacy. Legal solutions at EU level have these threats, so if not to eliminate, at least to minimize them by creating a common legal frameworks for information security and protection of personal data. The purpose of this publication is to analyze the European regulations that provide the basis for ensuring the safe information processing in information systems.
