PURPOSE AND THEMATIC SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL
Studia Prawnicze KUL is a peer-reviewed quarterly scientific journal published by the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the Catholic University of Lublin). It is released four times a year (by 31 March, by 30 June, by 30 September and by 31 December).
The quarterly contains papers dealing with the following disciplines: legal sciences and canon law. They enable the exchange of knowledge and legal experience relating to new socio-economic phenomena, and a detailed historical and comparative legal analysis of these phenomena.
The purpose of the journal is to disseminate, in the open access mode, results of scientific research, both national or international, carried out by lawyers. This is meant to constitute a platform for a detailed assessment of the operation of law in the context of socio-economic transformations and to facilitate the development of proposals for improving the adopted solutions, taking into consideration the legal achievements of Western and Eastern Europe, also including Ukraine.
As a standard practice, one journal issue a year is published in English, the objectives being to disseminate, on an international scale, the research conducted in Polish scientific centres, as well as to create an opportunity to promote the research carried out by foreign authors.
Abstracts of articles are published in English, Ukrainian and Russian, which fosters better positioning and more effective search for publications released in Studia Prawnicze KUL by researchers affiliated to scientific centres not only in Western countries, but also in Eastern Europe and Asia.
Along with scientific papers, the quarterly contains materials and glosses, commentaries to court decisions, scientific materials for teaching or training purposes, as well as source materials for legal studies, scientific reviews, and reviews of scientific publications in the field of legal sciences and canon law, published in Polish and foreign languages. The journal is supplemented by a chronicle of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, a bibliography of scientific publications of the academic staff, and memories of deceased staff and friends of the Faculty. In addition, the journal publishes reports drawn up in connection with conventions, symposia, conferences, seminars, workshops, etc., held both in Poland and abroad.
The papers are published mainly in Polish, English and Ukrainian.
