From the legacy of Professor Cezary Kunderewicz. Jan Kodrębski and Cezary Kunderewicz at the Department of Roman Law, University of Lodz

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to trace the relationship between Professors Cezary Kunderewicz (1912–1990) and Jan Kodrębski (1936–1997). The analysis is based on their correspondence, in particular the letters of J. Kodrębski preserved in the private archive of C. Kunderewicz, which found their way to the Department of Roman Law at the University of Lodz courtesy of his daughter, Teresa Kuderewicz CR. The letters, dating from 1971 to 1990, in addition to information on the relations between the professors and the division of tasks at the Department of Roman Law at the University of Lodz, are a testimony of the affection and respect that the gentlemen had for each other.
