The Lisbon Strategy

Actions to eliminate the U.S. advantage in relations to Europe has been manifested in a document prepared by the European Commission in 1970 the “Memorandum Colony”. Further modifications and development work on the intensification of the EU countries were manifested in the extraordinary European Council meeting in Lisbon on 23-24 March 2000. For this purpose, a groundbreaking program called “Lisbon strategy” was prepared for EU member countries to catch up in terms of development of the United States. In 2004, in the face of poor assessment results of the Lisbon Strategy it was suggested to make changes in management strategy and to strengthen the financial incentives from the EU budget. In 2006 the European Council adopted a program called “The renewed Lisbon strategy”, while in March 2010 began preparing for the “New Strategy for 2020”.
