Family assistant – recapitulation of the first half of the year applying of Family Support and Substitute Care Act. The aim of this article is summary functioning of the institution of the family assistant in the first period of applying of Family Support and Substitute Care Act. Data on which examinations were based, results from material-financial reports produced by communes in supporting the family and the system of the substitute care and are covering the period since 1 January to 30 June 2012. The author is making analysis of shown data on the national level and provincial. In hereby elaboration was made a attempt a preliminary assessment of the effectiveness of form to support the family which is work with the family assistant.
