The participation of the Ombudsman for Children in cassation proceedings

Participation of the Children’s Ombudsman in the cassation procedure is closely associated with violation of the children’s rights. This new regulation of the Code of Criminal Procedure is worthy of notice. The institutional position of the Children’s Ombudsman and his limited role in the criminal procedurę have been discussed in connection with the difficult position of the juvenile victim of the crime. Unfortunately, interpretation of the added provision raises a serious concern.
