Maintenance for Parents

In his publication, a children's responsibility to provide maintenance for their parents is discussed. This liability still hasn't dawned upon the public consciousness to the same extent as parents´ responsibility to provide maintenance for the children. The legal basis for parents to demand maintenance from their children are Art. 128 and 129 of the Family – related Responsibilities and protection Code. Pursuant to these regulations, only a person suffering privation is eligible for the maintenance. A child (or children) in turn must be on high enough earnings enabling them to meet the said obligation. However, should an entitled person institute any proceedings contrary to the social and economical nature of the regulations under discussion, such actions shall not be protected by law.
