Status of the Bailiff in Poland and Germany – a Comparative Legal Analysis

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to provide a comparative legal analysis of the status and duties of the bailiff in Poland and Germany. It attempts to outline the history of this profession in both countries. It then presents models for the profession of the bailiff, highlighting similarities and differences. The legal basis for the activities of bailiffs in Poland and Germany is briefly described, enforcement titles are compared, and solutions to improve international cooperation are discussed. The article provides an analysis and, at the same time, proposes improvements and solutions that could contribute to more efficient judicial enforcement in the described countries as well as in the entire European Union.
