Penitencjarne i pozapenitencjarne aspekty zachowań suicydalnych w warunkach izolacji więziennej

Abstrakt
Zachowania samobójcze wśród osób pozbawionych wolności należą do najpoważniejszych wyzwań systemu penitencjarnego, gdyż izolacja, przemoc, zaburzenia psychiczne i brak wsparcia społecznego tworzą środowisko sprzyjające eskalacji myśli i prób samobójczych. W Polsce wciąż brakuje całościowych analiz łączących perspektywę penitencjarną i pozapenitencjarną tego zjawiska. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja czynników ryzyka zachowań suicydalnych w warunkach izolacji więziennej oraz po opuszczeniu jednostek penitencjarnych. Analiza opiera się na metodzie desk research, obejmującej dane statystyczne, raporty instytucji penitencjarnych, akty normatywne oraz wyniki badań krajowych i zagranicznych. Zachowania suicydalne w więzieniach mają charakter wieloczynnikowy. Dużą rolę odgrywają tutaj wiek, płeć, zaburzenia psychiczne, doświadczenia traumatyczne, etap odbywania kary, przeludnienie, izolacja, brak kontaktu z bliskimi oraz takie kryzysy społeczne jak pandemia COVID-19. Wysokie ryzyko dotyczy także okresu bezpośrednio po zwolnieniu z zakładu karnego. Skuteczna prewencja samobójstw w jednostkach penitencjarnych wymaga systematycznego monitorowania ryzyka, szkolenia personelu, wczesnej identyfikacji zagrożeń oraz zapewnienia ciągłości wsparcia psychologicznego po odbyciu kary.
