1. Explanation of the Topic

The declaration of St John Henry Newman (1801–1890) as a Doctor of the Church by Pope Leo XIV on 1 November 2025 was received with joy and hope. This event has provided an opportunity to renew reflection on the life, spirituality, and intellectual legacy of this eminent English theologian, philosopher, and priest. The life and work of Cardinal Newman constitute a remarkable synthesis of faith and reason, while the depth of his teaching and his holiness continue to inspire people throughout the world. His unique path of intellectual and spiritual growth, together with the evangelical and humanistic sensitivity expressed in his writings and ministry, has become the subject of specialized scholarly research and has served as a foundation for a Christian personalist vision of the university.

We invite submissions of articles addressing various aspects of the life and thought of St John Henry Newman, especially in the context of contemporary cultural, social, and religious transformations. Contributions offering innovative interpretations of his theological, philosophical, and pastoral views are particularly encouraged, with an emphasis on their continuing relevance and evangelical humanism.
