Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego (Studies in Law on Religion) is an annual journal published on behalf of John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. It aims to publish scholarship (written in Polish or in English) on legal aspects of religious freedom and relations between the state and churches and other religious organizations. Special attention is given to Polish law. Many contributions, however, investigate issues relating to the law of other states, legal regulations of the European Union and international legal protection of freedom of thought, conscience and religion. Besides research articles, the journal also publishes commentaries on case law, book reviews and conference reports, as well as translations and presentations of source documents.

The SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indicator for our journal was 0.123 (the SJR indicator takes into account both the number of citations received by the journal and the prestige indicators of the journals from which the citations come).

Call for papers

The editors of Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego (Studies in Law on Religion) invite submissions of original, previously unpublished articles, as well as reviews, reports and other materials (e.g., commentaries on court judgments) relevant to any area of law on religion. All contributions should be prepared in compliance with the journal’s guidelines and delivered in electronic form through the online submission system.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, and the deadline for each volume is May 31 each year. The entire volume is published digitally at the end of each calendar year. Selected articles, when accepted for publication, are published under Online First. They are citable by their digital object identifier (DOI) assigned at the time of online publication. Once the entire volume is published, Online First versions are removed from website.

The Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB), after receiving positive opinions from reviewers, decided to include “Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego” in the SCOPUS database. The journal’s indexing process will start with the 2022 volume.
Obituary for Rev. Prof. Henryk Misztal

It is with great regret and sadness that we inform you that Rev. Prof. Henryk Misztal died on November 28, 2020. He was a long-time Head of the Department of Law on Religion, Dean of the Faculty of Canon Law and Legal Sciences at the Catholic University of Lublin (1987-1989) and member of the Scientific Council of “Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego” from the start of the journal. We have lost a great master and a dear friend, a good and righteous man.
